Injury concerns for McParland
Graeme Lee is a definite absentee as he requires surgery on a long-standing groin problem. McParland had hoped that the problem was manageable but the defender limped out of Saturday's 4-0 win at Macclesfield and will now go under the knife.
Midfielder Neal Bishop is also out after he went to hospital with suspected broken ribs after a clash with Macclesfield midfielder Ross Draper, an incident which saw Bishop removed at half-time at Moss Rose.
Lee's central-defensive partner, John Thompson, is also a doubt after breaking his nose at the weekend, but there is better news for Ben Davies who came through 90 minutes unscathed following a groin injury.
New signings Johnnie Jackson and Kasper Schmeichel look set to be involved following their recent moves to Meadow Lane, with Jackson poised to replace Bishop in midfield.
The Magpies have made an emphatic start to the League Two campaign having won their first two games with ease.
