Ince rolls his sleeves up

Notts County manager Paul Ince insisted his players were "excellent" at times, but had plenty of hard work ahead of them following their 3-1 defeat at Exeter. Jamie Cureton and Richard Logan put Tisdale's side 2-0 up at the break and although Lee Hughes pulled one back for the visitors, Ryan Harley clinched it for the Grecians with a third goal in the 66th minute to leave the Magpies in the bottom four. Ince said: "I thought the performance was different class, we had numerous chances especially in the first 10, 15 minutes and could have had three goals. "But you have to learn in football at any level if we make mistakes like we did it will cost you, it does cost you. "I thought we were excellent, sometimes you have got to give them praise as well as criticism. The chances we had were unbelievable. We dominated most of the game, we had a bad 10, 15-minute spell when they got their two goals and the third one kills you off. "Disappointing it is. I saw some signs in the second half when we played some really good football, we hit the bar a couple of times, one off the line and another day they go in."
