Derby chase Ben Davies

Rams bid for influential midfielder Notts County chairman Ray Trew and chief executive Jim Rodwell will be feeling a sense of deja vu currently after receiving a bid, believed to be worth around £250,000, from Derby County for midfielder Ben Davies. The Rams attempted to sign the former Shrewsbury Town and Chester City man in the Summer but Notts refused to let their man go. However, with Davies having struck seven goals in League One already, as well as being near the summit of the division's assist charts, Derby boss Nigel Clough is stepping up his interest.  Both Paul Ince and Trew have stated that they wish to keep their best players at Meadow Lane and that Davies certainly isn't for sale cheaply, whilst the player himself has said that he "loves it" at Meadow Lane and doesn't want a move away.
