Davies struggling for Rovers tie

The summer signing from League Two rivals Shrewsbury scored the Magpies' first goal of the new season in Saturday's 5-0 rout of Bradford, but had to be substituted at half-time after complaining of a tight groin. Davies believes the visit of Doncaster will come too soon for him to be involved but he hopes to recover for when County return to league action at Macclesfield at the weekend. "I don't know how bad it is really. I felt it after the first five minutes and throughout the first half. I'll be struggling for Tuesday night but hopefully I'll be fit for Saturday," the 28-year-old told the Evening Post. Notts County will be hoping for a result similar to when the two sides met at this stage of last season's competition when Myles Weston's extra-time goal gave Ian McParland's side a 1-0 victory.
