Davies certain of County promotion
Davies played a key part in the 5-2 win over Northampton on Saturday which saw Ian McParland's side move into fifth place and the former Shrewsbury man believes they will win promotion.
He said: "We'd like to be top of the league now but it's not as easy as that. We have eight or nine new faces in the team from last year and it does take time to gel and win games consistently.
"There are only seven games gone and we're in fifth, another couple of wins we could be top.
"It is tight up there and we are only going to get better the more we play together. If you are there or thereabouts by Christmas it's a good place to be. We fully expect to be up there by then.
"We've got to win games and be in the top three. That is where this club wants to be at the end of the season. If we keep playing the way we can, we will be up there."
