County still have hard work to do
The Magpies have four friendlies scheduled over the next couple of weeks before they begin the new campaign against Bradford on August 8.
County host Arnold Town on Tuesday, before local rivals Nottingham Forest visit Meadow Lane on Saturday.
Speaking to the club's website, McParland said: "Just because we have games coming thick and fast doesn't mean we will take our foot off the pedal.
"Pre-season is all about hard work and to date the lads have been first class."
