County still await takeover clearance

The takeover of the League Two club was discussed at a meeting of the Football League board, of whom Lord Mawhinney is the chairman, in London on Thursday. Mystery has surrounded the identities of the investors behind Munto Finance, a Swiss-based Middle East consortium, since their takeover at Meadow Lane in the summer. The club expected the takeover to be rubber-stamped by the Football League but, despite providing more information about their new owners, there are issues that remain outstanding. "We are grateful to Notts County for providing us with further information in regard to its ownership structure, we have received a lot of new and helpful information over the last few days," Mawhinney told Sky Sports News. "We are analysing it and meetings to clarify a few outstanding issues will take place with Notts County representatives in the next few days with a view to concluding matters in the near future. "We are making good progress but there are one or two things to clear up and resolve. I must stress that Notts County have made a lot of information available to us that we didn't previously have and we are grateful for that."
