County hit by triple injury blow

17 August 2009 15:36
Defender Graeme Lee, midfielder Neal Bishop and captain John Thompson all face spells on the sidelines following Saturday's 4-0 victory over Macclesfield. Lee requires a groin operation after limping off just before the half-hour mark, while Bishop has broken ribs after a clash with Town's Ross Draper and Thompson suffered a broken nose at Moss Rose. Magpies manager Ian McParland was particularly unhappy about Draper's challenge on Bishop. "I thought it was a horrendous foul. He (Bishop) went in honestly to head it and the lad gave him a dig in the ribs," said the Scot. "We've got a broken nose from an elbow and broken ribs and there wasn't a booking in the game."
