Cotterill: Shame about late brawl
Mike Edwards struck his third goal of the season as the high-flying Magpies extended their unbeaten run to eight games.[LNB]But the game ended in ugly scenes as Luke Rodgers and Ashley Westwood both saw red in injury time after the former Crewe striker high-kicked the youngster and a ruck ensued.[LNB]Cotterill said: "It was good game that we deserved to win but it's a shame because the last five minutes has overshadowed it all.[LNB]"There was no need for the referee to red card either of the lads, a yellow card would have sufficed. I was going to bring Ade Akinbiyi on but decided to go for Luke as he has had more games and I thought he had more in the tank.[LNB]"In hindsight it was the wrong decision and I wish I had gone for Ade. It's good to be second in the league but that doesn't count for anything unless we press on and keep winning."[LNB][LNB]
