The much-travelled 34-year-old striker has signed a deal until the end of the season with a view to extending his stay at the ambitious League Two club, who over the weekend revealed the identities of two of the investors providing the financial muscle at Meadow Lane. "Ade will give us even more firepower and quality. He has signed until the end of June and if he gets lots of goals to get us promoted he will get another year," said Magpies executive chairman Peter Trembling. Akinbiyi is the latest high-profile arrival at Notts County following the takeover by Swiss-based Middle East consortium Munto Finance this summer. He played over 500 games for 11 different English clubs before his move to the MLS at the end of March.
