Nottingham Forest captain Kelvin Wilson hopes the City Ground faithful get behind the players in the last game of the season against Yeovil Town.
A run of five wins and a draw in their last six matches has given Forest the chance to clinch an automatic promotion spot.
If Colin Calderwood's side beat the Glovers, who knocked them out of the play-offs last season, and Doncaster fail to secure victory at Cheltenham, Forest will go up to the Championship.
Wilson said: "It'll be a massive game. We've been booed off quite a bit at half-time - but, like we've seen in the last match, we've got late goals, so we have to be patient.
"It isn't about the performance it's about the result and, if we get that and things go our way, they can be cheering at the end.
"It was brilliant when there was no booing at half-time at Hartlepool. We want that at home as well though. I understand the frustration. I'm a fan as well.
"The fans want us to go forward and create something. So do we. But it isn't always easy when there are 11 players behind the ball."
