Tyson pens new Forest deal

Nottingham Forest have handed striker Nathan Tyson a new long-term contract.

Newly-installed manager Billy Davies has moved swiftly to tie the 26-year-old frontman down to a new deal, with his existing contract due to expire at the end of this season.

Tyson, who has scored 34 goals in 119 appearances during an injury-interrupted spell at the City Ground, will now remain with the Championship club until the summer of 2011.

"Sometimes when a new manager comes in it can put players in a difficult position and can lead to them taking stock and seeing how things develop," Davies told the club's official website.

"The fact that Nathan has decided to make this move is something I'm thoroughly delighted about.

"He's a fantastic young player, has great potential and lots ahead of him and I think it's a great signing for Forest."
