Tyson injury not serious

Nottingham Forest striker Nathan Tyson could be fit for the weekend clash with West Bromwich Albion, despite leaving Wednesday's Carling Cup victory over Bradford on a stretcher.

Tyson set up two goals in Forest's 3-0 win over their League Two opponents in the first round tie, but was carried from the field after a nasty-looking challenge from Jonathan Bateson.

Bateson received a red card for the challenge, which hurt Tyson's ankle.

But manager Billy Davies is hopeful the 27-year-old can shake off the injury to line up against the Baggies on Saturday.

Davies said: "Nathan has taken a heavy knock but at the moment I don't think there's anything too serious.

"Obviously we'll wait and see how he is, but I am keeping my fingers crossed he should be okay for the weekend."
