Perch pens new Forest deal

Nottingham Forest midfielder James Perch has signed a new two-and-a-half year contract to remain at the City Ground until 2011.

Perch, who has been handed the captain's armband following Billy Davies' arrival as manager, was delighted to pledge his future to the Championship side.

"I was coming towards the end of my contract and I'm delighted everything has been sorted," he told the club's official website.

"I always knew Forest wanted to keep me and that I was going to stay if they offered me something.

"It was just a case of getting my head down and waiting for the club to make me an offer.

"Billy Davies is an ambitious man and wants to take Forest into the Premier League and I want to be part of it.

"I know I've made the right decision and I couldn't be happier."
