Perch blow for Forest

Nottingham Forest have been dealt a major blow with the news that James Perch will miss the first three months of the new season.

After recovering from a shin problem over the summer it has now been confirmed that he has a stress fracture of the tibia.

He played 41 times last season and matured enough to be handed the captaincy by manager Billy Davies.

Speaking to the club's official website, head physio Andrew Balderston said: "We knew James was suffering from bone stress but it takes a certain length of time for stress fractures to show up on scans.

"Unfortunately, our fears have been confirmed and James has a stress fracture that will keep him out for three months."
