Nottingham Forest have signed Preston North End striker Brett Ormerod on loan until the end of the season.
The 31-year-old has slipped down the pecking order at Deepdale and was recently linked with a loan move to Morecambe.
Forest boss Colin Calderwood told the club's official website: "Brett is someone we have been watching all throughout the season to a degree, we've kept an eye on him because he's a quality striker.
"We want to add to what we've got and with Will Hoskins not able to take part at the moment, I think it's appropriate we give ourselves strength in depth.
"It means we've got firepower and I think Brett's experience will be quite good for us as well."
Ormerod has scored 14 goals in 68 appearances for the Lilywhites, having earlier enjoyed spells with Blackpool and Southampton, as well as loan stints with Leeds United and Wigan Athletic.
