Nottingham Forest manager Billy Davies has admitted that a competitive return for injured defender James Perch is still 'weeks and weeks away'.
The 24-year-old, who played 41 games last term, has sat out the entire season so far with a stress fracture of the shin, but is now in light training with the squad.
"James has now been training for the best part of two weeks and he hasn't had any reaction," Davies told the club's official website.
"He couldn't even run two-and-a-half weeks ago and the specialist told him nothing was moving. The scan was still showing up the problem and it appeared that it hadn't improved one per cent.
"The specialist told him that he might as well train.
"We shoved him on the grass and he trained and was a little bit achy, trained again and was a little bit achy and then continued to train, but now he's training without pain."
