Missed chances worry Davies
13 Jan 2010 - 10:30:52
Nottingham Forest manager Billy Davies urged his side to be more clinical after a positive display at Birmingham City ended in a 1-0 FA Cup third round replay defeat.
The Championship high-flyers were undone by a Barry Ferguson strike at St Andrew's, with Davies ruing a number of missed chances.
He told the Evening Post: "We had more than 20 attempts on goal, in comparison to their 14. We had a number of chances in both halves and I told the players that, if they reflect on the two games, we have to be more clinical.
"You have to finish in front of goal or it will come back to haunt you. That is what we have to learn.
"We had chances to win both games and that has to be the lesson we take from this. That is the big difference between Premier League sides and Championship teams.
"I am not sad to be out, but I am disappointed for the players because they deserved more out of the game than they got."
