Nottingham Forest have been boosted by the news that Lewis McGugan could be back in action towards the end of September.
The teenage midfielder has missed the last two games with a thigh problem, but believes he could be back in action when Forest host Charlton Athletic on September20.
"I'm desperate to get back playing again but the last thing I want is to make the injury worse and risk being out for a longer period," he told the club's official website.
"It's really frustrating because the same sort of thing happened to me at the start of last season and I missed a lot of games.
"But hopefully, if I am careful, then I should be back a lot sooner this season than I was last.
"I was hoping to be back after the international break but the Burnley game (September 13) might come a little bit too soon for me.
"I'm probably looking at the Charlton match, but it is important that I'm fully recovered first."
