Matt eyes Forest return

Nottingham Forest defender Matt Lockwood is closing in on a first-team return following the injury-plagued start to life at the City Ground.

The summer signing from Leyton Orient has not featured for his new club since injuring his ankle on the opening day of the season.

But after playing 60 minutes for the club's reserve side in midweek, Lockwood has set his sights on a return to the first team.

"It felt so good to be out there again - I haven't felt that excited about playing a reserve game for years," he told the club's official website.

"It has been so frustrating for me this season that I can't put it into words and it was so enjoyable to be back in action, even though it was only for an hour.

"Hopefully this time I won't suffer a recurrence of the injury like I did last time."
