Kitson strikes to deny Forest win
The striker, whose first season in the Potteries was a flop and who spent part of the campaign back at old club Reading on loan, got the only goal for Tony Pulis' side in the 47th minute. Nathan Tyson had given Forest a 34th-minute lead. Stoke handed a start to summer signing Dean Whitehead and the former Sunderland man played for 71 minutes before making way for Rory Delap, while the match also marked the first pre-season action for Ricardo Fuller - the Jamaican frontman coming on as a 56th-minute substitute for James Beattie.
