Gunter joins up with Forest

Nottingham Forest have signed Tottenham Hotspur defender Chris Gunter on loan until the end of the season.

The 19-year-old Wales international joined Spurs from Cardiff City in January 2008, but manager Harry Redknapp was keen to loan him out in a bid to play more first-team football.

The full-back has made just one Premier League appearance since Redknapp arrived at White Hart Lane in October.

"I'm delighted to bring in Chris because he can play full-back on both sides," said Forest boss Billy Davies.

"He is competitive, he's played at this level and is proven at this level."
