Nottingham Forest boss Colin Calderwood has been boosted by thee new that summer signing Joe Garner could be fit for action by the end of September.
The 20-year-old, who joined Forest from Carlisle United this summer, has not played since February due to a serious knee injury, but is now making good progress in his recovery.
Calderwood told the Evening Post: "We have had a good report from the specialist about Joe Garner.
"He will have a good week of training next week, he will have a gentle introduction to joining in with the rest of the group.
"But we are probably still looking at the end of September before he is back, because he effectively still has a pre-season to get through."
