Former Boss Update

A number of ex-Nottingham Forest managers have been in the news

Alex McLeish is being linked with the vacant manager's post at Millwall after his ill-fated spell at the City Ground. The Scot is thought to be keen to replace Kenny Jackett in South London.

The man that McLeish replaced, Sean O'Driscoll, has appointed former Forest coach (and caretaker boss) John Pemberton as his assistant at Bristol City.

O'Driscoll said: "John has an outstanding reputation as a coach and his track record in bringing young players through stands up against anyone. I'm delighted that he has bought into what we want to try to do here and agreed to come and be a part of it."

Steve McClaren is thought to be a contender for the Wolves job and has been backed by former Forest striker Peter Withe.

"He's got good coaching skills and good managerial skills," Withe told BBC WM.

"Any manager would want to take that job at this moment in time. They're at rock bottom. You can only go one way."

And David Platt has decided to leave Manchester City after the sacking of Roberto Mancini despite being asked to stay at the club.

"David has made a significant contribution to the club's success and we wish him well with his career wherever that now takes him," read a City statement.
