Forest tie up double signing
20 Jul 2009 - 13:48:26
Nottingham Forest have wrapped up the double signing of Preston North End midfielder Paul McKenna and Tottenham Hotspur defender Chris Gunter.
McKenna moves to the City Ground for £750,000 and has signed a three-year contract, while Gunter arrives for £1.75million after penning a four-year deal.
Former Lilywhites stalwart McKenna told his new club's official website: "It's a massive change for me but I think it was time for that change.
"You can get stale being at a club too long but I've had great times there and I'll look back with fond memories.
"But when an opportunity like this falls into your lap you would be a fool not to take it.
"Coming here has given me a new lease of life and I'm really excited about the challenge ahead."
Gunter, who impressed while on loan at Forest last season, added: "There was never a temptation to look at other clubs who were supposedly interested.
"I wasn't sure whether the reports were true or not because I didn't bother to find out. I was just praying that this move would happen and I'm delighted it has."
