Nottingham Forest's new signing Matt Lockwood can't believe the speed with which his transfer from Leyton Orient has gone through, after spending the last nine seasons at Brisbane Road.
The 30-year-old full-back moved from Bristol Rovers to the O's on a free transfer in August 1998 and made almost 400 appearances for the club.
He told Forest's official website: "I can't believe how quickly it's all happened.
"I've had nine years with Orient and was preparing for the tenth and a possible testimonial when the chance of joining Forest came right out of the blue.
"Obviously, it's a bit of a wrench leaving Orient after so long, but this was a move I couldn't turn down.
"To get the opportunity to join a club with Forest's tradition is marvellous. I hadn't been to the City Ground until last season but it doesn't take you long to realise what a tremendous set-up it is.
"I just can't wait to get started. The players have been very welcoming and I'm looking forward to going on the (pre-season) trip to Austria to get to know everybody that much better.
"I can already sense there's a good mood in the camp and at this stage it's all about us getting ready for August 11."
