Nottingham Forest manager Colin Calderwood has confirmed he is close to signing a Premier League striker on loan.
Calderwood was disappointed with his shot-shy strikeforce in the goalless draw with Reading and has vowed to improve his attacking options.
He said: "We're trying to bring a striker in on loan to give us added firepower in the short term.
"There's no secret in that and we'll continue to work on that. Whether the club concerned will allow their player to play in the Carling Cup is a different matter. That's a situation we'll have to look at."
