Fletcher forced to leave Forest

Carl Fletcher has returned to Crystal Palace after enduring an injury-disrupted loan spell with Nottingham Forest.

The Wales international suffered a back injury during his time at the City Ground which restricted him to only four starts for Colin Calderwood's side.

Meanwhile, the Forest boss remains convinced his side will not be relegated this season even after the home defeat to Norwich City consigned his team to the foot of the table.

Calderwood said: "We're capable of getting out of trouble. But, with the way the division is, I think it could take a greater part of the season for us to pull clear of trouble.

"More or less, I think we're in this fight until the end. There's an opportunity for us in the next few weeks - but they don't get much bigger than the one we had against Norwich."
