FA charges for Forest and Leeds

    18 Aug 2010 - 10:45:55

Nottingham Forest and Leeds United have been charged by the Football Association following a mass player brawl during Sunday's 1-1 draw at the City Ground.

Under the new fast-track system, both clubs have until Friday to answer the charge relating to an incident which was sparked when Forest's Chris Gunter clashed with Leeds' Sanchez Watt.

Gunter has also been handed a separate charge of violent conduct after appearing to stamp on his opponent.

"Leeds United and Nottingham Forest have both been charged following a mass confrontation between their two sets of players at Sunday's Championship fixture at the City Ground and have been charged under new fast-track rules with failing to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion," read an FA statement.

"Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest's Chris Gunter has been charged with violent conduct following an incident in the same fixture.

"Gunter has been offered the penalty of a three-match suspension and has until 6pm on Wednesday 18th August to admit or deny the charge."
