Earnshaw to sit out Owls clash

Nottingham Forest striker Robert Earnshaw has been ruled out of the midweek clash with Sheffield Wednesday as he is still struggling with a hamstring problem.

The 27-year-old Wales international missed the 1-0 defeat at Plymouth Argyle but is under consideration for Saturday's visit of Crystal Palace to the City Ground.

Colin Calderwood may bring Matt Thornhill back into his starting line-up against the Owls though as the teenager has served his one-match suspension.

"Robert isn't going to be fit enough to be involved against Wednesday," Calderwood told the Evening Post.

"However, he does have a good chance of making it back in time to face Crystal Palace at the weekend.

"Matt is available again though and he is very much in my thoughts for a starting position against Wednesday.

"He was unlucky to be sent off but he'll come straight back into the squad now he's served his ban."
