Diamonds snap up midfielder Byrne

Rushden & Diamonds have signed midfielder Mark Byrne on loan from Nottingham Forest until January. The 20-year-old had a loan spell at Blue Square Premier champions Burton Albion towards the end of last season. Diamonds manager Justin Edinburgh told the club's website: "He's an excellent addition to the squad. He's tenacious and he's full of energy.
