Davies relishes Forest escape

Nottingham Forest boss Billy Davies was relieved after seeing his side's Championship survival sealed by Norwich City's 2-0 home loss to Reading.

Defeat for the Canaries made sure that both Forest and Plymouth Argyle were safe, with Davies delighted with the way things have panned out at the city Ground.

He told the Evening Post: "When I sit down and highlight what happened from January onwards and look at what has taken place, I have no doubt it is my proudest moment in football so far.

"I am very proud to have kept this football club up, I am very proud of the players and very proud of everyone connected with Forest, because this is an outstanding achievement.

"I have to say we owe a big thank you to everyone at the club, to the players, the coaching staff, the other staff and the fans."
