Davies mulling over McKenna return
Nottingham Forest boss Billy Davies is considering whether to gamble on the fitness of influential captain Paul McKenna in the Championship play-offs.The midfielder has resumed training as he continues his recovery from a medial knee ligament injury he suffered at the start of March. While McKenna remains some way off full match fitness, Davies may decide to include the 32-year-old in his play-off squad as he believes his experience could prove vital - particularly if the Reds reach the final at Wembley."The final is more realistic than the semi-finals, without a doubt, but even then he won't have full match fitness as he won't have played any football," said Davies. "I could see him sneaking into the squad for the final - that is a more likely scenario."But his experience will be a help regardless. Just having him around the place would be good as he can tell the lads what to expect and what will go on. And having him in the dressing room just doing what he does for us."He has been an outstanding loss to this club and if we get him back it would be a massive boost. He is making steady progress but I think it would be a huge risk. We will have to see what happens this week."
