Davies denies Guthrie approach
Nottingham Forest boss Billy Davies insists that he has not made an approach to sign Newcastle midfielder Danny Guthrie.
Reports suggested that Forest were poised to bring in the 23-year-old on loan as they push for promotion to the Premier League. However, Davies admitted that Guthrie was on his list of possible targets, but that was as far as the interest went.
He told the Nottingham Post: "I have made no attempt to sign Guthrie. He is a player who was on our list, when we were looking at possibilities. And he is a player who had been out of the picture at his club. But is he available? I don't know. Would he come here? I don't know."
On potential movement in the transfer market, Davies added: "My targets are not exhausted. But we have a great dynamic in the dressing room and I am concerned about that.
"I would love to tell you the players I have tried to get; to give you the full details. But I cannot do that, it would not be fair. What I can tell you is that I have made several attempts to bring loan players into this club."
