Davies cool on Forest hopes

Nottingham Forest boss Billy Davies has warned everyone associated with the club not to expect too much next season.

Davies helped Forest engineer an escape from relegation from the Championship this term, but believes a promotion challenge next season is highly unlikely.

He told the Evening Post: "The Forest fans and the people at the club, we have to make sure we don't get too excited.

"We don't want to expect that we're suddenly going to win the league next season, that we're going to be a top-two team.

"Let's keep our feet on the ground, let's be humble. Let's not get too carried away.

"What we've achieved this season has been remarkable, but it won't be any easier next season.

"It will be a massive job to compete at the top end. Yet I'm already hearing from certain quarters that we're going to finish in the top six.

"But the message has to be loud and clear, we have a fight on our hands next season."
