Nottingham Forest boss Colin Calderwood has called on his side to secure their play-off place as quickly as possible after Tuesday's 2-0 victory over play-off rivals Carlisle United.

Forest consolidated fourth place in the League One table after goals from Luke Chambers and Garath McCleary secured the points at Brunton Park.

Calderwood had demanded an improved showing after his side lost 1-0 at Doncaster Rovers on Friday evening.

"The goal now is to cement that play-off place as early as possible," said Calderwood.

"We have to win on Saturday (against Cheltenham). We don't want another draw at home or a defeat.

"We want to win and prove we are producing a reaction now as good as the one we produced after the Bournemouth game.

"It was a super result which just lifts everyone. We want to gain momentum from this and look forward to the visit of Cheltenham on Saturday."
