Nottingham Forest midfielder Eugen Bopp is determined to force his way into boss Gary Megson's first-team plans and secure a new contract at the City Ground.
The 22-year-old, who followed up his goal in the home win against Hartlepool on Saturday with Forest's first in the humiliating 3-2 LDV Vans Trophy defeat at Woking on Tuesday, is hoping he has shown Megson he is worthy of a regular starting place.
It was Bopp's first start of the season against the Conference outfit as Megson made ten changes from the side which won at the weekend and he is now looking to stay in the side to face Yeovil in the next match.
His current deal expires next summer and Bopp realises that, in order to stay at the club, he must start playing more regularly.
He said: "That is right, I am playing for a new contract I guess. But I am not thinking about that, I just want to be playing football at the moment.
"It was good and enjoyable just to get on the pitch on Saturday and to do well.
"It is my aim to get in the team on a regular basis. That has always been my goal.
"I want to do my best to be as successful as possible for myself and the team."
