Nottingham Forest boss Joe Kinnear has allowed Eugen Bopp to join HSV Hamburg on trial.
The 20-year-old German midfielder will try to impress Hamburg coach Klaus Toppmoller during a friendly against Second Division German side Osnabruk.
Bopp came through the youth team ranks at Bayern Munich before joining Forest on a free transfer in August 2001.
He has gone on to score four goals in 31 League starts for Forest but has not played since February.
