Wotte: Offers on table for Saints

Speaking after Saints' 3-1 Championship defeat to Nottingham Forest, Wotte also confirmed there are four parties currently interested in saving the club from extinction. Saints, who were already relegated prior to Sunday's final day loss at the City Ground, will start life in League One next season on minus 10 points after their parent company Southampton Leisure Holdings Plc went into administration last month. But there is cause for optimism, with speculation mounting Southampton legend Matt Le Tissier is interested in saving the club from financial ruin. Wotte said: "There are some people talking to the administrator, they are considering an offer, but it has only been one week since we were relegated. "I'm not allowed to talk about anything (specific details of the interested parties), I think there are two groups of people. "The sooner there's a solution the better." Wotte also revealed he expects players to leave this summer, with as many as six being watched by rival clubs against Forest. But he wants to remain in charge at St Mary's and help the club through their current predicament. He added: "I think four, five or six players were being watched today by some Premier League or Championship clubs and they've made enquiries. "The players with big wages, you can't pay them in League One - so (Marek) Saganowski will leave, Jason Euell, Rudi Skacel, Bradley Wright-Phillips are all running out of contracts. "Wayne Thomas is still a Southampton player but in League One those wages are a bit too expensive I think." Speaking about his own future he added: "I will just wait for the decision of the administrator." Saints deservedly took the lead against a lacklustre Forest outfit through Wright-Phillips in the 16th minute. But Forest, assured of their Championship status earlier this week, hit back in the second half and levelled through Joe Garner. Luke Chambers headed the hosts in front three minutes from time before Robbie Earnshaw added a third even later on. "I think it reflects the season," added Wotte. "It's a ridiculous result if you see the game but it's why we are in the bottom three." Opposite number Billy Davies spoke about his vision for Forest after the victory. The Reds boss dismissed claims he will have as much as £20million to spend in the summer, but admitted his interest in bringing on-loan duo Chris Gunter and Dexter Blackstock to the club on permanent deals. He said: "No figure has been mentioned, I'll see the board next week to chat about a few things. "We now need to build a team and have good competition in each area. And start to work with a team that we can look to the next three or four years. "In an ideal world I'd love to make permanent signings but there may be one or two that we're forced to take on loan. "We've already started touching base with agents and making contact with clubs. Obviously we've now got to find out about fees and possibilities." Davies also spoke of his delight at ending the season on a six-match unbeaten run, sparking optimism for a positive campaign next year. "We started off sluggish but great credit has got to be given to Southampton, I think they're in a false position," he added. "The second half was much better and we showed plenty of courage. "We wanted to keep the run going, finish on a high and give the fans a good send-off."
