The Football League are poised to restrict the number of overseas loan players that a team can field

The move, to bring overseas loans in line with domestic ones, has been drawn up in response to criticism that Watford were able to sign 10 players from Udinese last season and have them classed as full transfers rather than loans.

Elsewhere in the Championship, Millwall are for talks with St Johnstone manager Steve Lomas over succeeding Kenny Jackett.

On the Forest front it is being reported in Sheffield that Wednesday defender Lewis Buxton turned down overtures from the City Ground before signing a new deal with the Owls.
