And Davies has highlighted Sheffield United captain Chris Morgan as being the sort of player that his squad need to try and emulate if they are to survive the drop.
"They are all quiet," he told the Nottingham Evening Post. "We are lacking in that mentality because of their age and experience.
"It is difficult to turn one or two players into monsters.
"People like Morgan at Sheffield United, they are experienced, they are grinders and they are nasty. It takes time to get that, but that's what we need."
