Rumour mill: Burnley bid £1.7m for Forest target
Peter Whittingham is the subject of increasing interest Linked with a move to Nottingham Forest already this summer, the goalscoring midfielder is thought to have been the subject of a bid from the Reds' opening-day opponents Burnley. The £1.7m offer has been knocked back but Burnley, set to be one of the close season's biggest spenders at this level, are likely to return with a new bid. Reports elsewhere meanwhile suggest that Chris Cohen remains a target for Premier League Bolton Wanderers.
