City Ground strikers are again making the news as Dexter Blackstock has used the media to say he wants to sign a new Forest contract.
Lamenting the lack of an offer to replace his current deal, he told the Nottingham Evening Post: "We are in mid-December now, almost. January is almost here. But what can I do?
"I have a great rapport with the fans, I love being here. It is a great club to play for and I hope that continues. But I have not been offered a contract."
Three forwards currently out on loan from the club are also in the headlines.
Marcus Tudgay is looking for a good performance in Barnsley's high-profile derby against Sheffield Wednesday to earn a new contract with the Reds.
David McGoldrick, League One's top goalscorer, has said he 'owes' Coventry City for reviving his career but that that does not automatically mean he will join the Sky Blues permanently in January.
Matt Derbyshire is also wanted in League One as Oldham Athletic pursue a permanent deal.
Forest fan Adam El-Abd, meanwhile, is looking forward to Saturday's visit by the Reds to his club Brighton & Hove Albion.
“My mother and her family are all from Nottingham," he told The Argus.
"We followed them when I was younger because my dad was always busy on Saturday afternoons and the only time I got to go to live football was when my mum took us to visit the grandparents and to see Forest."
