Pre-season begins at last for the Reds

With new owners and a new manager in place it is finally down to the serious business of preparing for next season

Although Nottingham Forest's players have been back in training it is only now that the uncertainty hanging over the club has been lifted and thoughts can turn to new signings and the friendly fixtures that will give Sean O'Driscoll the chance to re-aquaint himself with the squad he left only at the end of last season.

The arrival of new owners and departure of Steve Cotterill led to the club's trip to the USA being cancelled and O'Driscoll will have less time and fewer matches than he would have liked to get the Reds ready for the Championship campaign.

Nevertheless he is familiar with the players who will arrive for work on Monday morning, the loan signings from last season who many fans would like to see brought back and the division as a whole having been in charge of Doncaster in the Championship for over three seasons up to September last year and then assisting Cotterill for a further five months.
