Pearce: Forest survival vital

Forest, promoted from League One last season, have found life back in the second tier tough going and will resume after the international break third bottom of the table and two points adrift of safety.[LNB]Pearce, who spent 12 years as a player at the City Ground, said: "I think if they keep in possession of a Championship place at the end of the season it will be a good year for the club.[LNB]"It took them a few years to get out of the league below and I think it is important for them to stay in this league and consolidate, and if it is one place above the relegation positions that would be successful and they can build again for next year."[LNB]Pearce was speaking ahead of his England Under-21 side's friendly against France at the City Ground.[LNB]"On his return to his old stomping ground, the England manager said: "I had 12 good years here and I always look out for the club and I have a special relationship with the supporters. It's exciting for me to bring a team back here."[LNB][LNB]
