Forest wait on Cox

Nottingham Forest will check on Simon Cox ahead of the visit of Leeds.

Cox missed the home victory over QPR on Boxing Day through illness and, with a shortage of strikers available, Reds boss Billy Davies will hope the Republic of Ireland international can recover from the virus.

With Cox unwell, Darius Henderson starting a three-match suspension, Dexter Blackstock (knee) injured and Marcus Tudgay and Ishmael Miller out on loan, Davies started with the versatile Greg Halford up front against QPR and he opened the scoring as Forest went on to win 2-0.

Centre-half Danny Collins is nearing a return from the ankle injury that has kept him out for the past two months.

Leeds midfielder Luke Murphy will return to contention following suspension.

Murphy sat out the Boxing Day draw at Blackpool due to a one-game ban but could return to the starting line-up as manager Brian McDermott looks to utilise his full squad.

Michael Tonge and Michael Brown started in midfield at Bloomfield Road but could both return to the bench if McDermott opts to recall Alex Mowatt alongside Murphy.

Central defender Marius Zaliukas overcame an ankle injury in time to play the full 90 minutes at Blackpool, while recent signing Gboly Ariyibi was named among the substitutes for the first time and could make his first appearance for the club
