Problems mount for Forest

Nottingham Forest face mounting injury problems for the visit of Sky Bet Championship leaders Burnley.

Boss Billy Davies' main area of concern is in central defence. Kelvin Wilson (back) and Danny Collins (ankle) are already long-term absentees while Greg Halford has sustained an injury in training and Jack Hobbs is a major doubt with a virus, potentially leaving 20-year-old Jamaal Lascelles as the Reds' only recognised centre-back.

Forest also have problems in midfield after Andy Reid and David Vaughan returned from international duty with injuries, ruling the pair out of Saturday's game.

"We're disappointed to have these boys missing but it may give a good opportunity to other members of the squad," said Davies. "We have been working hard to bring players in on loan but have had a number of attempts knocked back."

Burnley boss Sean Dyche will hand a late fitness test to Dean Marney ahead of the trip.

Marney returned to the starting line-up for the 1-1 draw with Bournemouth after a thigh injury had forced him to miss two matches. He will be assessed on Friday to see whether he is fit to start once again.

Otherwise, Dyche has a fully-fit squad to pick from and could opt to shuffle his pack.

Midfielder Junior Stanislas is in contention to start should Dyche choose to freshen things up.
