Britt Assombalonga poised to make long-awaited Forest return

Striker Britt Assombalonga could make his long-awaited return from a knee injury in Nottingham Forest's Sky Bet Championship clash with Brentford.

The 23-year-old forward has been sidelined for 13 months but bagged a goal for Forest's Under-21s in midweek, and could now feature this weekend.

Henri Lansbury could also yet be back in action after a bad ankle injury, with the club captain stepping up his recovery.

Teenage winger Oliver Burke will also be in contention, fresh from his Scotland debut in the 1-0 win over Denmark on Tuesday.

Josh McEachran will be missing for Brentford amid fears his season is over.

The former Chelsea midfielder was injured in training last week and the Bees are waiting to see whether he has broken his foot for the second time this campaign.

John Swift is a doubt after suffering an Achilles injury which required five stitches while on England Under-21s duty.

Scott Hogan (hamstring) needs a fitness check while Lewis Macleod (knee), Philipp Hofmann (back) and Andreas Bjellend (cruciate) are still out injured.
