Injury-hit Nottingham Forest gear up for visit of Arsenal

Nottingham Forest's injury problems will not change dramatically in time for the visit of Arsenal in the EFL Cup.

Defender Damien Perquis has a chance of being involved following a groin problem while midfielder Thomas Lam will hope to overcome a hamstring complaint.

Striker Britt Assombalonga is still struggling with a calf issue and is unlikely to return while Matty Fryatt (Achilles) and Daniel Pinillos (knee) remain long-term injury absentees.

Former Arsenal trainee Henri Lansbury, his ex-Gunners team-mate Armand Traore and Ben Osborn will all hope to be restored to the starting line-up after being rested against Norwich on Saturday.

Arsene Wenger is likely to make several changes to his Arsenal side for the trip to the City Ground.

The likes of David Ospina, Rob Holding, Kieran Gibbs, Lucas Perez and Chuba Akpom will be hopeful of involvement.

Granit Xhaka may feature from the off having not started since the win at Watford last month while Olivier Giroud (toe), who missed the Premier League win at Hull over the weekend, could be back in contention.

Aaron Ramsey, who had a loan spell with Forest during the 2010/11 season, is still out with a hamstring injury and Gabriel (ankle), Per Mertesacker, Danny Welbeck and Carl Jenkinson (all knee) also remain out.
