Midfielder Mark Byrne is one of five teenagers to be offered a new contract by Nottingham Forest. The Irishman made 44 appearances during a season-long loan spell at Rushden & Diamonds during the 2009-10 campaign and scored seven goals for the Conference club. The academy product will hope to further a first-team career that has so far been limited to substitute appearances. Young player of the year Karlton Watson, goalkeeper Zannettos Mytides, right-back Kieron Freeman and striker Tom Mullen have also been offered new deals.
